Observing Condensations in Atomic Fermi Gases

چکیده
Observing condensation in a gas of fermions has been another interesting topic after the realization of the Bose-Einstein Condensation in atomic gases. The condensation of fermions may happen either in the BEC or the BCS manner, depending on how the fermions are paired to each other. This paper gives a brief review on the recent breakthroughs in this

Atomic quantum gases in Kagomé lattices.
We demonstrate the possibility of creating and controlling an ideal and trimerized optical Kagomé lattice, and study the low temperature physics of various atomic gases in such lattices. In the trimerized Kagomé lattice, a Bose gas exhibits a Mott transition with fractional filling factors, whereas a spinless interacting Fermi gas at 2/3 filling behaves as a quantum magnet on a triangular latti...
متن کاملPseudogap phenomena in ultracold atomic Fermi gases
The pairing and superfluid phenomena in a two-component ultracold atomic Fermi gas is an analogue of Cooper pairing and superconductivity in an electron system, in particular, the high Tc superconductors. Owing to the various tunable parameters that have been made accessible experimentally in recent years, atomic Fermi gases can be explored as a prototype or quantum simulator of superconductors...
متن کاملPair-correlation in Bose-Einstein Condensate and Fermi Superfluid of Atomic Gases
We describe pair-correlation inherent in the structure of many-particle ground state of quantum gases, namely, Bose Einstein condensate and Cooper-paired Fermi superfluid of atomic gases. We make a comparative study on the pair-correlation properties of these two systems. We discuss how to probe this pair-correlation by stimulated light scattering. This intrinsic pair-correlation may serve as a...

We present a brief account of the most salient properties of vortices in dilute atomic Fermi superfluids near a Feshbach resonance.
متن کاملDensity fingerprint of giant vortices in Fermi gases near a Feshbach resonance
The structure of multiply quantized or giant vortex states in atomic Fermi gases across a Feshbach resonance is studied within the context of self-consistent Bogoliubov–de Gennes theory. The particle density profile of vortices with 1 flux quanta is calculated. Owing to discrete branches of vortex-core bound states, inside the core the density oscillates as a function of the distance from the v...
